To provide the best medicine, you need the clearest data. Seaforth Vets is equipped with a diagnostic suite that rivals many specialist centres, allowing us to perform deep-dive investigations into your pet’s health without them ever having to leave our care.

ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS
Human-Grade Technology for Local Patients

SPECIALIST-GRADE ULTRASOUND (GE)
We have invested in a brand-new GE Ultrasound machine, a high-specification unit used for both abdominal imaging and detailed echocardiography (heart scans).
- Precision Imaging: This allows us to see fine details in the liver, kidneys, and heart valves.
- Fine Needle Aspirates: We use ultrasound to guide needles safely into specific areas to collect cells from tumours or organs for analysis.
- Emergency Scanning: In urgent cases, we use this to quickly check for fluid accumulation or internal bleeding.

ENDOSCOPY & BRONCHOSCOPY
Endoscopy is a non-invasive way to "look inside" using a tiny camera on a flexible tube.
- Gastrointestinal Scopes: We can look into the stomach and duodenum (upper GI) or the colon (colonoscopy) to identify lesions and take biopsies without surgery.
- Airway Scopes (Bronchoscopy): For pets with chronic coughs, we can examine the trachea and bronchi and obtain samples directly from the lungs.
- Foreign Body Retrieval: If your pet has swallowed something they shouldn't have, we can often use the endoscope to retrieve it, saving them from major abdominal surgery.

DIGITAL X-RAY SUITE
Our advanced digital X-ray system provides high-resolution images in seconds.
- Instant Review: We can view and manipulate images digitally for better clarity.
- Expert Consultation: Our system allows us to instantly share images with specialist radiologists for a "second opinion" when needed.
- Dental X-Ray: Essential for seeing what is happening beneath the gum line, the area where 60% of dental disease is hidden.

ON-SITE LABORATORY
When a pet is in a crisis, every minute counts. Our in-house lab provides "bedside" results in under 20 minutes:
- Full Blood Counts & Biochemistry: Checking organ function and white cell counts.
- Blood Gases & Electrolytes: Vital for tailoring intravenous fluid therapy in sick patients.
- Clotting Times: A life-saving test for patients who may have ingested rat bait or have been bitten by a snake.
BETTER DATA. BETTER OUTCOMES.
By combining specialist expertise with this level of technology, we ensure your pet gets a faster, more accurate diagnosis.
